{"id":1518,"date":"2023-04-06T20:43:53","date_gmt":"2023-04-06T20:43:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.psva.org\/?p=1518"},"modified":"2023-04-10T18:05:12","modified_gmt":"2023-04-10T18:05:12","slug":"medical-school-update-uva","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.psva.org\/?p=1518","title":{"rendered":"University of Virginia Update"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>By Catherine Zisk, MD PGY-2<\/strong><br><em>UVA Health Systems<br>Charlottesville, VA<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are welcoming many changes in our department for the next year<strong>. <\/strong>We are grateful to Dr. Zachariah Dameron, who has been Program Director of the UVA Psychiatry residency for over 20 years and will be retiring. We will miss him very much and appreciate the time and care that he has put into this program.&nbsp; Dr. Nassima Ait-Daoud will be taking on the position of Program Director. Dr. Anne Louise Stewart and&nbsp;Dr. Jordan Rosen&nbsp;will be the Associate&nbsp;Program&nbsp;Directors. Dr. Rosen will be rejoining UVA faculty after recently working at Bringham William&#8217;s hospital in C\/L and Critical Care Psychiatry.&nbsp; Dr. Mary Lynn Dell has joined us this year as our new Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship director. We additionally welcome Dr. Erika Maynard and Dr. Lady Martinez to the Child&nbsp;and Adolescent Psychiatry faculty.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our fourth-year residents are moving on to exciting next steps in their careers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Dr. Stephanie Barber will be going into private practice in the Charlottesville area. She will be joining an established practice with other former UVA Psychiatry residents.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dr. Andrew Legan will be staying at UVA to do an Addiction Medicine Fellowship.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dr. Ihuoma Njoku will be going to UPenn for a Consult Liaison Psychiatry Fellowship.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dr. Chistopher Rowley will be joining a private practice in the Charlottesville area and plans to specialize in&nbsp;psychedelic assisted psychotherapy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dr. Kareem Seoudy plans to be working primarily in telepsychiatry.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dr. Erawadi Singh will be going to Yale for a Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dr. Jason Pickett will be doing Emergency Medicine and Psychiatry in Mississippi.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We would also like to welcome our new interns for this academic year: Dr. Harrison Brock, Dr. Kathryn Glayat, Dr. Rajath Kenath, Dr. Dalynn Kim, Dr. Felix Li, Dr. Alison Neuwirth, Dr. Kira Panzer, Dr. Juliette Silverman, Dr. Medha Singh, Dr. Yixue &#8220;Lily&#8221; Wang.
