{"id":2311,"date":"2024-04-22T19:09:00","date_gmt":"2024-04-22T19:09:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.psva.org\/?p=2311"},"modified":"2024-05-01T14:20:47","modified_gmt":"2024-05-01T14:20:47","slug":"carilion-clinic-update-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.psva.org\/?p=2311","title":{"rendered":"Carilion Clinic Update"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>By Kishore Nagaraja, MD<\/strong><br><em>Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellow<br>Carilion Clinic-Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine<br>Roanoke, VA<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Departmental Awards and Promotions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Dr. Robert Trestman was reappointed as Chair of the APA Council on Healthcare Systems and Financing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dr. Badr Ratnakaran was appointed as Chair for the APA Council for Geriatric Psychiatry.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dr. Anita Kablinger was elected into the Virginia Tech Carilion chapter of Alpha Omega Alpha.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dr. Kiran Khalid was appointed as a committee member to the American Association of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry\u2019s Early Career Psychiatry Committee for a 2-year term.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dr. Ahmad Khan was appointed as Associate Program Director of Carilion Adult Psychiatry Residency.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Recent Lectures<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Dr. Badr Ratnakaran, Dr. Kate Liebesny, and Dr. Robert Trestman individually presented lectures at the Psychiatry Society of Virginia Annual Spring Meeting.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dr. Kiran Khalid and Dr. Badr Ratnakaran presented a lecture together at the 2024 Annual Meeting of the American Association of Geriatric Psychiatry in Atlanta, GA<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>General Adult Residency and Child Psychiatry Updates<\/strong><br>The adult psychiatry program is excited to announce the incoming class of PGY-1 residents starting in July 2024. There were over 1162 applicants and 92 interviews for our eight positions.
