EVMS resident Shefali Hegde, MD talks to Del. Glass during her visit.

EVMS Psychiatry Residents and faculty participated in a legislative update from Virginia House of Delegates representative, Jackie Hope Glass.  Delegate Glass represents Virginia’s 89th District in the City of Norfolk. She discussed how we can make a difference in the care of our patients through lobbying and letting local and state representatives know what obstacles patients suffering with mental illness face in medical care, as well as in their daily lives.

She encouraged residents and medical students to attend the PSV Lobby Day in Richmond, January 16, 2024 to learn about and bring forward issues related to mental health care in Virginia. For more information about Lobby Day contact Andrew Mann of the Psychiatry Society of Virginia (PSV) at [email protected].
