We are halfway through 2024, and I want to bring your attention to our 2024 Fall Meeting of the PSV. This year, the meeting will be held on October 4-5, 2024, at the Hilton Richmond Downtown in Richmond, VA. The theme of our conference is “Lifelong Learning in Psychiatry and Improving Mental Health Care,” and we have curated our sessions to be pertinent to various topics related to the mental health care of our patients.

We are also partnering with the Virginia Council of Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists (VCCAP) to provide more concurrent sessions this year on the mental health care of children and adolescents. Please have a look at the Mobile Meeting Guide for more details. Registration for the meeting has also opened.

Another important point I wanted to inform our members of is this year’s APA Presidential Theme on Lifestyle Psychiatry. Besides medications, lifestyle modifications are an essential part of non-pharmacological interventions for our patients that we often forget. The APA is planning multiple educational sessions and products related to Lifestyle Psychiatry. Do look out for it.

Below is the APA’s Psychiatric News Article on the Presidential Theme of Lifestyle Psychiatry:
