As I sit down to write my final message as president of PSV, I find that words escape me. For how can I express the gratitude and respect I have for each of you? (And yes…. I realize that I may not have had the opportunity to meet all of you, but your participation still made a difference!)
When I reflect upon this past year as president, I cannot help but to smile. I am reminded of the outstanding scientific meetings and adventures at the General Assembly. For me, the most valuable things were the relationships that were built. The work we do is hard and can sometimes be isolating. Being part of PSV allows me to know that I am never alone.
This June will mark 10 years since I moved to Virginia to start my residency at VCU. Many of you have provided support for me during this past decade and I thank you for that. Serving as your president has been an absolute privilege and honor. I wish you all the best of luck on your future endeavors.
