Carilion Clinic Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine has recently rebranded under the title Carilion Mental Health. The renaming of the division was an initiative by our department to be more inclusive and encompass all the services offered. Carilion New River Valley Medical Center Psychiatric services has also retitled as CNRV Mental Health
In March, our hospital officially opened Virginia’s first Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program which is led by Dr. Anilla Del Fabbro. The past two years have been spent laying the groundwork for this program and the department is incredibly proud of these efforts.
Carilion Mental Health congratulates Dr. Badr Ratnakaran for being voted President Elect of the Psychiatric Society of Virginia.
We would like to congratulate Dr. Yezhe Lin on earning two APA Fellowship awards for both Public Policy and Diversity Leadership. Dr. Lin has also recently been published on Kudos titled “How Chronic Pain Affects Your Eating Habits: Insights From Neuroscience”.
Carilion Clinic Adult Psychiatry Residency is proud to announce that they fully matched 8 residents in the general match for the Class of 2027. We eagerly await their arrival in Roanoke and expect them to integrate beautifully into our training program.
We have also accepted two fellows into our Child and Adolescent Fellowship! Congratulations to Ryan Ritch MD and Trishna Sharma MBBS.
