White Coats on Call Recap

PSV members at the General Assembly

By Sneh Hanspal, MD
Junior Chief Resident, Scheduling
PGY-3, Department of Psychiatry

The Psychiatric Society of Virginia visited the General Assembly during White Coats on Call. Former PSV presidents Dr. Susan Waller and Dr. Rizwan Ali, along with several VCU Psychiatry residents (Dr. Donovan Nourn, Dr. Sneh Hanspal, Dr. Megan Green), met with Virginia State Congress delegates Rep. Marie March and Rep. Otto Wachsmann, to discuss legislature such as HB243 and HB1245.

PSV members advocate for bills that support safe and effective care for patients. This year, there were over 350 bills in the General Assembly that could effect the field of medicine in the state of Virginia. It is more important than ever to lobby in-person or virtually and make your voice heard!
