SPRING 2022 ISSUE

VCU Medical School Update

By Dr. Alex Ambrose (Co-President of RPS)
and Dr. Arthur Calloway (Outgoing Co-President of RPS)
with contributions from Dr. Emily Rosen (Incoming Co-President of RPS)

It is hard to believe another year has gone by so quickly. VCU psychiatry continues to expand with additions of new attending faculty to both adult and child & adolescent psychiatry.  The Department of Psychiatry is continuing to offer virtual appointments as well as transitioning back to in-person appointments, and this has allowed patients to receive care across the state of Virginia. Our residents continue to demonstrate a commitment to learning and research, with three posters accepted to APA* and PSV#.

  • * # Ambrose, A., DiazGranados, D., Moideen, S., & Shah, B. Assessing Psychiatry Residents’ Confidence in Their Knowledge of Reproductive Psychiatry.
  • * Brooks, C., Farsin, R., Zulfiqar, S., & Pandurangi., A. Addressing Mental Healthcare Needs in the Country of Tajikistan.
  • * # Dietrich, E., & Bui, M. Proactive Psychiatric Consultations Clinical Utility for Intensive Care Patients with Delirium and Respiratory Failure: A Retrospective Chart Review.
