  • Dr. Melanie Gonzalez, PGY-2, Dr. Jessica Mees-Campbell, and 4th year medical student, Oyinda Akinnusi, had an abstract accepted to the American Neuropsychiatric Association (ANPA) titled, “When Medications Collide: A Case of Zolpidem and Paliperidone Palmitate LAI Triggering a Crisis of Hepatic Encephalopathy and Post-Injection Delirium-Sedation Syndrome”.
  • Program Director Dr. Shriti Patel spoke at the fall PSV Conference with a talk on “Ageism in Mental Health Care:  Combatting Grand Biases to Connect with Grandparents”.
  • Dr. Taylor Wallace, PGY-2, and 4th year medical student Rachel Billingsly presented a poster at the fall PSV conference on anti-NMDA encephalitis.
  • Dr. Chelsey Rountree, PGY-3 and chief resident, presented a Grand Rounds talk titled, “Hitting the Ground Running: An Intro to Sports Psychiatry”.
  • Dr. Seth Warren, recent EVMS Psychiatry resident graduate of 2024, joined EVMS Psychiatry as an attending and emergency department psychiatrist.
  • The department has welcomed several new staff, including Dr. Charlotte Dawson, PhD, clinical psychologist; Charlotte Burchett, PA-C; and David Arther, PA-C
  • Art therapy is now available with EVMS Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences!
