Dr. Nieves Represents PSV at Healthcare Events

Drs. Jose Edwin Nieves and Kathleen Marie Stack represented the Psychiatric Society of Virginia at several health care related events in the last quarter.

These included a recent reception for the Virginia Delegate for Hampton Roads District 85, Marcia “Cia” Price. Delegate Price has been a health care champion for the Commonwealth in the areas of access to care and reproductive rights for all Virginians. Del. Price is also an advocate for mental health access services. Her advocacy work in the field of mental health earned her an induction into the Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board Hall of Fame in 2019.

The engagement also included Virginia’s 3^rd District Representative, Congressman Robert “Bobby” Scott. Senator Scott has also been a defender of access to care, and the maintaining of Affordable Care Act tax credits during the recent congressional impasse.
